Managing Availability
As a Part-time / Freelance employee, you manage your availability through Lasso. You can do this in the mobile app by following the directions below.
Open the App and find your schedule by selecting the yellow circle menu in the bottom right corner.
Once in your calendar/schedule, find and select the blue icon in the upper right corner.
Under Company select Capital A Productions.
Select the day(s) you are unable to work.
Select the start and end times you are unavailable. This is great if you will only be unavailable for a portion of the day.
Select OK in the bottom right corner. A black dot will appear on the unavailable day(s) to confirm your submission. Select to review.
Shift Policy
Capital A Productions schedules shifts through Lasso. Shift times assigned in Lasso are estimates based on projections taking into account location, equipment, and customer needs. We expect that staff stays until the job is complete and the customer is satisfied. In the case that job runs over the estimated allotted time, the crew members need to be available to fulfill the customer's needs. The CAP Team Lead is responsible for dismissing you when the job has been fulfilled. Please take this into consideration when accepting a shift. Notify Caitlin (caitlin@capitalaproductions) in advance if you have other/additional commitments on the same day. This may play a factor into if you are the best fit for a specific job.
Capital A Productions operates under 4-hour minimum and uses a first-come, first-served basis to fill roles. So whoever confirms a job posting in Lasso first will fill the gig. We will remove any other non-needed parties. So please be diligent at looking at Lasso and responding to job opportunities.
Shift Coverage Policy
Once you accept a job via Lasso, we expect you to fill that role. If for some reason you are unable, we require that you find a QUALIFIED PERSON to fill that position. In addition, please communicate with Caitlin (caitlin@capitalaproductions.com) about any changes. Please refer to the Employee Directory.
Missing Time Punch (Part-Time /Full-Time)
You will need to fill in the Google form (LINKED HERE) within 24 hours of the missing punch. If a time punch is missed and this form is not completed, your time will be noted as scheduled. Missing punch times will not be accepted via text or email.
Break Policy
When working 8+ hours it is required by law for workers to take a 30-minute break. Break will be coordinated by your Team Lead, and each employee should be clocking in and out for their break through Lasso. (If an employee forgets to clock in and out, they must fill out the Missing Punch Form HERE)
Note: The FLSA requires workers to be paid for short break periods; however, an employer does not have to compensate for meal periods of thirty (30) minutes or more, as long as the workers are free to use the meal period time as they wish and are not required to perform work during that time. Breaks of short duration (from 5 to 20 minutes) do not have to be clocked in and out.
Parking
We are not paying parking tickets for personal cars. However, if the crew 100% has to park a truck AND it's the right thing to do for the show, we will pay for that ticket. The show lead needs to make that call, and each time it happens we need to find out why they made that call.
Social Media Policy
We love when you guys take pictures of your work, and we encourage you to share them. However, if you take a picture when you are on the clock for Capital A and post those images/stories at any time, you need to tag Capital A in those posts.
